Description
A High-Octane Snowmobile Expedition
300 Kilometres. 4 Days. One Epic Adventure.
Forget the tourist trails. This is a high-octane, deep-snow expedition designed for those who want to feel the raw power of a snowmobile across the vast Swedish wilderness. Over four days, you will pilot your own machine across frozen lakes, through dense ancient forests, and over mountain peaks, covering up to 300km of the most spectacular terrain in Jämtland.
This is a digital detox with a twist—trading the screen for a throttle and the city for the silence of the North.
The Expedition Highlights
-
Total Control: No riding pillion here. You are handed the keys to your own machine for the entire duration of the trek.
-
The Distance: Test your endurance with daily runs of up to 100km, navigating everything from woodland trails to deep-powder mountain passes.
-
Mountain Vistas: Ascend to the summit of Önrun, where a clear day reveals a breathtaking panorama stretching all the way to the Norwegian border.
-
The Team Bond: Live the expedition life in our remote, off-grid cabin. From preparing group meals to sharing stories by candlelight, this is about the camaraderie of the trail.
-
The “Arctic Reset”: Between the long days on the snow, enjoy the luxury of a mountain hotel stay and the traditional heat of a Swedish sauna and wood-fired hot tub.
The 7-Day Itinerary
Day 1: The Gathering
Fly from the UK to our remote base camp. Our rustic cabin has no electricity or running water—it’s the perfect place to unplug, meet your team, and prepare for the journey ahead.
Day 2: Power Up (69km)
Collect your snowmobile and gear in Storabränna. After a safety briefing, we head out. We start steady to build your confidence before heading into the deep snow to practice handling and recovery.
Day 3: The Long Haul (100km)
This is a true expedition day. We traverse woodland and frozen lakes, refuelling in remote villages before climbing into the mountains. We end the day at a mountain hotel in Jänsmässholmen for a well-earned beer, sauna, and a comfortable night’s rest.
Day 4: To the Summit (100km)
After a mountain breakfast, we head for the peak of Önrun. The views here are legendary. We take a fresh route back to our base cabin, navigating the landscape at speed.
Day 5: The Final Run (70km)
One last push through some of Sweden’s most stunning forests. We return to Storabränna to hand back the machines before retreating to the cabin for a final night of stories and a celebratory sauna.
Day 6: Recovery & Reflection
A day for the “active rest.” Relax by the fire, explore the village, or head out on snowshoes. In the afternoon, we light the hot tub and fire up the BBQ for a final celebratory feast.
Day 7: The Return
Depart the wilderness for your flight back to the UK, carrying the adrenaline of 300km with you.
What to Expect
“Believe it or not, four days of driving takes its toll.” This trip is physically engaging and requires a “can-do” attitude. You aren’t just a passenger; you are part of the team. You’ll help prepare meals, manage the cabin, and master your machine. It is rewarding, exhausting, and utterly unforgettable.

We have been operating our snowmobile adventure weeks for many years and are proud to be the first company in the U.K. to earn accreditation as snowmobile guides, following specialized training in Sweden in 2019.
While many operators offer only a few hours of riding, our program provides four full days of driving through the Swedish wilderness. Our guests cover nearly 200 miles across lakes, mountains, and forests. Despite the high logistical costs of remote accommodations and fuel, we remain committed to keeping our pricing competitive.
The success of our course is reflected in the many guests who return year after year. With vast open spaces, fresh powder snow, and total freedom, this is truly an adventure not to be missed.
Rather than focusing on online reviews, we prefer to concentrate on the experience itself. Our guestbook in the cabin is filled with handwritten testimonials that mean the world to us and serve as a genuine record of our guests’ experiences.

“What a trip! Riding through amazing snow covered forests, wind swept mountains, big open lakes and forest meadows full of waist deep powder. What could be better? The snowmobiles are modern agile, easy to ride and if you fancy have a sports button to make them even more exciting. They are not your average tourist tourer machine.
The Snow and Paddles team did a fantastic job with the logistics of the whole thing and with an in-depth local knowledge the route was tailored to the conditions and the abilities of the group.
All in all spot on.”

Just returned from this amazing off grid, snowmobile adventure. Nigel and his team were great. We had 4 days travelling across some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen, then a day cross country skiing and then we lit the hot tub and sauna for some relaxing under the stars. Everyone was kind, patient and helpful. I’m a solo traveler but would also highly recommend this company for couples or groups for survival weeks, kayaking and even their castaway challenges.

I am going on this trip in February 2026. Can’t wait! I’ve been on The Incredible Pulk and Arctic Survival trips with Snow and Paddles, and they are everything as described… and more! You will absolutely love it. Do it!
