ITINERARY
DAY 1
Fly from the UK to Sweden from London Heathrow to Ostersund. Upon arrival you will be met by a member of Snow and Paddles staff who will have organised transport to drive you to the remote location that Snow and Paddles use for the winter. The cabin is very basic with no electricity or indoor bathroom, TV, phones or computers – fresh water is bought in…fantastic ! With the warm, comfortable glow of the cabin and the smell of a warm meal awaiting you – life’s troubles should soon be forgotten!
DAY 2
In the morning after a huge lie in the first thing that is apparent is the fantastic views , and the snow laden trees that happens to be right in front of the cabin . After a well deserved breakfast this day is all about getting outside and heading off on a gentle cross country ski led by UK guides, (no experience needed) and explore the stunning wilderness on your doorstep.
DAY 3
After another lie in:) breakfast we head off to the lake where we will meet the husky dogs. The peace and tranquillity soon disappears as you hear the dogs arrive who are excited, noisy and ready to go. The moment they start to pull you away you are thrusted back into total silence once more……………. Oh, by the way you are driving!
The journey takes you around the lake and over to an island where a hot lunch is cooked over an open campfire with a coffee pot always on the go.
Unfortunately all good things have to come to an end, so we travel back to the cabin. In the evening you can either chill out and relax, or you can go for a play or walk with snow shoes on at night with the instructors.
DAY 4
After another lie in, breakfast we take an hour’s drive by minibus to the mountains where you will be issued a snow mobile and after a safety briefing we set off on an 80km trek through the stunning forests and over the mountains. Snowmobiling is exhilarating and extremely enjoyable.
A hot lunch is then provided either in a mountain lodge or a typical Swedish open hut.
After lunch we head off again for several hours driving through some of the most spectacular scenery Sweden has to offer. Sadly, this experience has to come to an end at some point, in this case it is when you hand the keys to your snowmobile back.
We will then travel back to the cabin to relax and absorb the experience and the atmosphere.
DAY 5
After yet again another lie in and hopefully you will have the hang of our relaxed timings by now, we will head down to the lake either walking or skiing or driving its your choice to do a spot of ice fishing, again lunch is provided and coffee is always at hand. If you catch some fish we can always cook them on an open fire by the lake as well.
DAY 6
This is a day to do as you please, we can ski, snowshoe or just relax, it is entirely up to you.
DAY 7
Relaxation day:) So today is all about just chilling out as we will light the hot Tub nice and early, then the day is yours to explore, relax in the sauna and hot tub or just lie in some more with a good book.in the evening we will have ourselves a campfire and BBQ outside with food made by our local guide..
DAY 8
After this wonderful relaxing and unique experience its time to head back to the UK, and the real world!

Gabrielle Wright –
Fantastic week, great days out doing the snowmobiling, the huskies, ice fishing. Enjoyed the spa & mooseburger afterwards! Great pizza place we went to. The cabin is lovely & cosy, slept well every night! Thoroughly enjoyed everything throughout this trip, will be back next year to do the canoeing trip! Thank you Nigel!!
Jon Hawkins Verified Owner –
Cabin – cozy, traditional and welcoming.
The log burner will be your best friend in the cold weather.
Skiing – no experience necessary, quick and easy to learn how to use them, great way to get around. Head off in the evening if you’re feeling more adventurous.
Snowmobile – twist and go! Easy and definitely the highlight for me!
Huskies – they live for this! So friendly and excitable.
Ice fishing – great experience even tho nothing fancied my bait.
Hot tub and sauna – I was one of the only ones in my group who wanted these every night. It takes about an hour to get the sauna up to temp and the hot tub takes a few hours longer but makes for a great cold plunge if you’re into that.
The staff – Nigel was fantastic as a host! Super knowledgeable, friendly and fun. Thanks Nobby we had such a great time!
It was amazing to be out here and I’ll definitely see you again in the future.
