Description

There has never been a better chance to practice your skills in such an awe inspiring, yet challenging environment.

This Week is better suited for people who have spent some time outdoors practicing their bushcraft and survival skills, although not essential.

What to expect?

Day 1.

Travel from the UK to Sweden.

Day 2.

Safety brief and cross country ski day to acclimatise, no previous ski experience necessary.

Day 3.

Travel to the lake and have a days ice fishing, eating what you catch, and if you don’t catch anything we will lay on a hot lunch as well.

Day 4.

Safe cutting techniques and fire lighting skills honed prior your departure into the field before the Bushcraft phase. you would be amazed how difficult some of the most basic bushcraft techniques are affected by cold weather, frozen wood and axe handling skills etc.

ski to location and erect tipi and establish camp for the night.

Day 5.

Natural shelter building day, this is your opportunity to build whatever type of natural shelter that suits your needs.

Snow hole/quinzee day.  This is a fantastic day learning how to build a quinzee and there is more science behind it than you think, plus the added bonus of sleeping in it for the night.

Day 7.

After the night in the quinzee, we head back to the cabin where you can either relax or head out for another ski, or take a snowshoe trip,
or even carry on practicing the skills that you have learnt over the week. The hot tub will be lit and so will the sauna, so you can get cleaned up and in the evening a BBQ to feast on.

  1. Callum

I just got back from the most incredible Arctic challenge with Snow & Paddles, and honestly, it was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! From the get-go, everything was top-notch.

Our guides, Nigel and Dave, were awesome. They really knew their stuff and took great care of us throughout the whole trip. They made sure we were all safe, comfortable, and had everything we needed. They kept the vibe fun and relaxed, even when the conditions got tough — you could tell they really cared about us having a good time and getting the most out of the challenge.

The Arctic itself was absolutely breathtaking. It was like nothing I’ve ever seen before — pure, wild beauty everywhere. Snow & Paddles really made sure we didn’t just see the landscape, but truly experienced it. Whether it was trekking across the ice or spotting wildlife, every part of the journey felt epic.

Nigel and Dave weren’t just guides, they were like friends who had our backs the whole time. They made everything feel easy and fun, and you could tell they were genuinely passionate about the Arctic and about looking after us.

If you’re thinking of doing something like this, I couldn’t recommend Snow & Paddles more. They made this Arctic adventure unforgettable, and I’ll definitely be joining them for more in the future!
