Description
8 day Canoeing in Sweden Expedition
Dates.
22nd-29th August 2027
The Great Swedish Silence: A 7-Night Wilderness Canoe Expedition
Disconnect to Reconnect. Leave the modern world behind and journey deep into the heart of the Sweden. This isn’t just a holiday; it’s a return to the essentials. From the moment you land in Östersund, the noise of the 21st century fades, replaced by the crackle of a campfire, the mirror-still waters of remote lakes, and the glow of the Midnight Sun.
The Experience
This expedition is designed for those who crave true wilderness. We leave behind electricity, Wi-Fi, and indoor plumbing for a week of pure, unadulterated nature. Under the “Midnight Sun”—where daylight lasts up to 20 hours—time becomes irrelevant. We paddle when we want, rest when we want, and live by the rhythm of the water.

Canoeing in Sweden is one of our most popular adventures. One of the best ways to explore Sweden is on the water, imagine canoeing gently across lakes and rivers, through some of the most tranquil and unspoilt vast wilderness Sweden has to offer.
I wanted to share the story of how this river journey began.
It all started in 2006 while I was ice fishing on the Harkan River. Looking at the landscape, I couldn’t help but wonder where the river led. Over the following years, I conducted several reconnaissance trips in the summertime , exploring every part of the lake and river system to identify the best sights and camping spots.
By 2011, I decided to invest in our own fleet of canoes and equipment.  At the time, rental equipment was often poor quality, so I purchased ten canoes and all the necessary gear in the U.K. and drove them to Sweden myself. While many competitors have since come and gone—often charging 50% to 70% more for similar trips using inferior equipment—we have remained committed to quality and value.
Our philosophy has always been to keep this experience affordable. In 2010, our Harkan  river trip was £995. Today, our trips are still priced at £995. We chose to stop organizing flights after Covid to keep costs low for our customers as airfare prices rose. Because we own our equipment and transport, and my Swedish business partner owns our cabin, we are able to cut out the middleman and pass those savings directly to you.
We look forward to sharing this adventure with you.

I had the opportunity to go on the canoe trip in Sweden in 2023 and it was an unforgettable experience. The pristine lakes and winding rivers offered breathtaking scenery and we were surrounded by lush forests, rocky shorelines, and wildlife, including reindeer.
The trip was very well-organized! Nigel is the most knowledgeable guide who provided assistance with canoeing techniques and knew the best places to pitch up for the day. Nigel ensured we were equipped with high-quality gear, making the journey both enjoyable and safe. The pace was good and allowed for plenty of breaks for snacks and to soak in the beautiful atmosphere.
The highlight of the trip for me was canoeing to an island where we swam and roasted marshmallows over a fire sharing stories and laughter.
Overall, this canoe trip was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. It’s an ideal escape for nature and adventure lovers and Nigel is the most brilliant guide. I highly recommend!!

This trip will never be forgotten. Lying in my hammock next to a lake, gazing at a crimson red sky was one of the highlights of this trip for me. The scenery is stunning and this trip is a real opportunity to disconnect from a busy world and reconnect with yourself. This is one experience that I would do again and again and again. In this environment, you will bond with others very quickly and create memories for life. Nigel is an excellent guide with a great sense of humour which is always a highlight for me. He demonstrates professionalism combined with warmth, and takes the time to get to know people, making them feel valued. This is a trip that you will never forget and never regret. Book now!
